It's a new day, friends.
S jr has started to roll. We've already had a couple of near-falls and good god let me tell you it's not easy to get my heart rate back down after a sudden lunge. The days of plopping him on the sofa and casually walking away are so very over.
This also means that he needs to graduate from his swaddler, the Miracle Blanket, which was recommended by my friend Monica (THANK YOU!). After trying three different styles, the Miracle Blanket beat them all thoroughly. I love that it doesn't have any velcro or fasteners...one of the styles we tried was so velcro-heavy unwrapping S jr while sleeping was a sonic nightmare. And man, this baby's arms want to be FREE! So the Miracle Blanket's design ensures baby's arms stay snug at his sides. Brilliant.
Okay, but now we move on. Both Corey and I were a curious (and a little nervous) to see how S jr would sleep without being swaddled. The effect of the swaddle has been so quick and so powerful – he calmed immediately and was asleep within minutes and stayed that way through the night. But rolling in a swaddle isn't good. Burrito on the loose.
Luckily, another dear friend, Wendy, reached out right around this time and put me in touch with the kind folks at Baby Deedee. I expressed interest in their products, and they quickly sent a Sleepsie Lite for S jr to try.
With the hot weather, we've been blasting the AC, so oddly, he needs something warmer to sleep in at night.
This little sleeper is perfect! It really is super soft, and snuggly, and the zipper design is genius. We haven't had to do any midnight diaper changes for awhile *knock on wood* but I can see how the easy zip at the bottom would make it simple.
It's also really cute, which never hurts. Those little knee dots? Come on.
