Yes, my friends, it's about to get even more real.
Corey and I are thrilled, excited, and sometimes prone to slightly maniacal laughter...but the fact that S jr will have a little bro or sis just blows both of our minds.
It's common to hear This always happens! when we share our news, and it can definitely seem that way. So much so that I did some research about the actual science behind this phenomenon...and found that the statement This always happens! is precisely untrue. It's a great example of confirmation bias – when it does happen, it becomes anecdotal and people love talking about it, so again, it seems like pregnancy always occurs after adoption.
In my research, I also came across this short piece, and found it eye-opening, in terms of what some people might experience when they hear this. Always so great to have one's mind opened a bit more.
Corey and I have certainly felt nothing but love and support and excitement for our news, and once again, we are so grateful to have such wonderful family and friends.
When it rains, it pours?
Yes. That does seem to happen. : )
Upcoming thoughts: Can two adults, two babies, a part-time teen and a dog live in one big room together? Can we add another person without adding a ton of stuff? Can we decide which double stroller we need without losing our minds? Stay tuned...
